3. How We Use Your Data

  • To operate and improve the Platform.
  • To facilitate bookings and process payments via Razorpay.
  • To send transactional notifications (booking confirmations, refund updates).
  • To calculate mentor ratings based on student reviews.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider (hosted in the EU/US).
  • Razorpay — our payment processor. Subject to Razorpay's own Privacy Policy.
  • Other users — your name and profile are visible to users you interact with (e.g., a student can see the mentor's name and bio).
  • Legal authorities — if required by law.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking and payment records are retained for 7 years for legal and tax compliance. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 8).

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Analytics (if used) are privacy-preserving and aggregate-only.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, Row Level Security (RLS) in our database, and HMAC signature verification for all payment events. No method of transmission is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.

To exercise these rights, email privacy@emoort.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
